PVA Past President Carlos Rodriguez Passes

PVA Past National President Carlos Rodriguez passed away at his home in El Paso, Texas, early Friday, November 23, with his devoted wife Liz, by his side.

Carlos Rodriguez served as PVA National President from July 1,1970 through June 30, 1972.

Mr. Rodriguez was the recipient of the most prestigious PVA Speedy Award (Member) in 1978.

He was born in 1932 in Brooklyn and joined the U.S. Army in 1947. In 1950, he was wounded by mortar and machine-gun fire during combat at Inchon, Republic of South Korea, while he served in the 187th Regimental Combat Team "RAKKASANS" 11th Airborne Division.  He underwent rehab at Valley Forge (PA) Army Hospital and he was recruited for membership in PVA in 1950.
