A brief look at 2016 Invictus Games competitor Roosevelt "RJ" Anderson

Roosevelt “RJ” Anderson is a man who won’t take “no” for an answer.

After a life altering motorcycle accident in 2012 left Anderson paralyzed, he never lost his resolve to pursue a passion that drew him into the military in the first place. The Army veteran became dedicated to his recovery going above and beyond with his physical therapy, even requesting bonus hours just to see more progress.

Just months after getting his wheelchair, Anderson competed in the 2013 National Veterans Wheelchair Games.

Anderson’s progress in recovery paid off when the Paralyzed Veterans of America Vaughan Chapter member was selected to compete in the 2016 Invictus Games. He will represent Team USA in the track and field and wheelchair tennis events.
