President Obama signs the veterans crisis line bill
Iowa Congressman David Young realized that the veteran suicide rate had reached epidemic proportions and took action.
Thanks to his initiative, The, “No Veterans Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act,” or H.R. 5392 was signed by President Obama and requires the VA secretary to make certain all veteran crisis line calls are answered in a timely manner.
In a press release issued by congressman Young he said, “those who have sacrificed in defense of our freedoms deserve the best quality mental health care possible, and I remain committed to ensuring we uphold the promises made them.”
