Warriors Breaking Records

Athletes are continuing to break records six days into the 2018 Warrior Games competition

The Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Games 2018 kicked off on Friday, June 1, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Over 300 ill and injured service members and veterans have gathered at the Air Force Academy to compete in 11 different sports, and they have put on an intense competition. Many Warrior Games records have been broken, and we have gathered all the record breakers, here.

 

Field:

Shot Put – Seated 3.0, Juliana Walker (Air Force), Gold, 5.62m (18’5.25″)

As day six of the nine-day competition starts, Team Air Force currently holds the highest medal count with 25 gold, 26 silver and 15 bronze, with a total of 66 medals overall. Team Army has the second highest medal count with 17 gold, nine silver and 15 bronze, with a total of 39 medals. Here is a list for the rest of the medal count:

 

Team Navy – 15 gold, 15 silver and six bronze with a total of 39 medals

SOCOM – 10 gold, 10 silver and five bronze with a total of 25 medals

Marine Corps – 13 gold, four silver and three bronze with a total of 20 medals.

Australia – Eight gold, zero silver and two bronze with a total of 10 medals.

United Kingdom – Four gold, two silver and two bronze with a total of eight medals.

Canada – Four gold, zero silver and two bronze with a total of six medals.
